created the first versions of Citect software and SIXNET launched
the concept of "I/O for Windows", starting with the
SIXTRAK I/O line and quickly adding IEC 1131 programmability
with the addition of ISaGRAF.
In 1995,
CiT hosted a rather productive (and pleasurable) meeting in
Cairns on the northern tropical coast of Australia. On the fourth
day of that conference, adrift on a catamaran off the Great
Barrier Reef, the concept of Scalable Control
Systems was born. A plan was created openly share technology
and encourage our engineers to help each other. On the marketing
front, SIXNET agreed to assist CiT build their U.S. markets,
and CiT helped SIXNET establish business in Australia and Asia.
The first common sales channels in Europe followed within a
year, as well.
Today, more
than 40 factory-trained distributors world-wide provide SCS
solutions to OEMs, end-users, and system solution providers
in over 60 countries in every part of the world.
