Wonderware
and SIXNET
|
| There
are several ways to interface SIXNET controllers, RTUs and I/O
to Wonderware's Intouch or Incontrol HMI software. |
| |
- Modbus
OPC/DDE Server: SIXNET offers a free
OPC/DDE to Modbus
Server. This server use the Modbus
protocol to communicate over Ethernet or serial connections
to SIXNET stations. It then makes the I/O available to any client
software that supports OPC (v1.0), DDE, FastDDE,
or AdvancedDDE.
- SIXNET
OPC/DDE Server: SIXNET also offers an
OPC/DDE to SIXNET
Server. This server use the advanced SIXNET protocol to
communicate over Ethernet or serial connections to SIXNET stations.
It then makes the I/O available to any client software that
supports OPC (v2.0), DDE, FastDDE, or AdvancedDDE.
A free license for up to 32 I/O and/or 2 stations is provided
for the SIXNET driver. For more I/O or stations or to run other
drivers, additional licenses can be purchased directly from
www.kepware.com.
- Modbus
Direct Drivers: You can also use Wonderware's
standard Modbus
(Ethernet or serial) servers to communicate directly to SIXNET
stations. Wonderware's Intouch or Incontrol then uses their
Suitelink protocol to communicate to the server. (Note:
With serial connections, you can't communicate to the SIXNET
stations with SIXNET software utilities at the same time they
are being polled via Modbus ASCII or Modbus RTU.)
