take advantage of the open-source environment and
create your own application program or product enhancement.

RTU. We recommend that you use the industry standard LINUX tools.
Protecting Your Proprietary Software
The
LINUX operating system itself is licensed to be open-source to
insure that you have design flexibility. The proprietary software
that you develop is your property – and you are free to protect
it and license it for use in any manner that you choose. Many
OEMs tell us that they do not like ladder logic because they cannot
hide (or protect) their proprietary programs. In an IPm™
RTU, you can supply any or all of your software as executable
programs, with no obligation to share the source code. LINUX programs
are easily protected in the same way you protect any C language
program.
