SIXNET
controllers and RTUs can be easily configured to transfer I/O data
with other SIXNET stations, remote I/O modules
(EtherTRAK and RemoteTRAK), or third party Modbus
compatible devices. The I/O can be transferred via Ethernet, serial,
or wireless links, and can be easily configured using the SIXNET
I/O Tool Kit (SCS option group required.)
Combine I/O Transfers with I/O Polling
to get your data where you need it!
Peer-to-peer
I/O moves with no programming - easy to use setup wizard
Transfer
I/O on a fixed interval, or on any alarm or event that you program
Easily

I/O transfers over multiple ports simultaneously
I/O
Transfers are included with the SCS option group of the SIXNET
I/O Tool Kit.
Common
Applications for I/O Transfer Capability:
I/O registers
at one location can be mapped to I/O registers at another location
without the need for a supervisory computer. ("bit-mapping")
I/O registers
can be mapped to a Modbus compatible device such as a PLC.
Programmable
stations can exchange physical and virtual I/O with other stations
to provide program control decisions.
Programmable
stations can write I/O values directly into an IOmap (I/O database)
in your computer or a Master Terminal Unit (MTU). This is a
convenient way to implement exception reporting to your Windows
applications.
Note:
All IPm-based units* (newer
firmware required) support Modbus master over Ethernet
or serial
connections. RemoteLog units support Modbus
master on the RS485 port only.
The ET-GT-ST-2
supports Modbus master on only the serial ports.
