The
distributed architecture of a SIXNET SCS (Scalable
Control System) gives you great flexibility in creating system
redundancy. By utilizing SIXNET IPm RTUs,
SCS controllers, and I/O
modules, you will be able to achieve a system that meets your
specific redundancy requirements. The following topics provide
an overview of the more common redundancy methods. Those methods
are briefly described and can be used individually or in conjunction
with each other to provide maximum protection against unexpected
failure. Details on redundancy configuration and programming may
be found in the SCS Redundancy
Technical Note, TN646. SIXNET systems have a true distributed
architecture (like a large DCS). Redundancy
is easy to implement with this open access system.
