Firewall
Protection
SIXNET's Linux-based IPm controllers
and RTUs offer security features to protect your industrial
systems where you need it most -- right on the plant floor.
"IPtables" creates firewall protection restricting
traffic to or from select IP addresses. You can even restrict
the use of protocols (port numbers) for added protection.
This well trusted Linux application is easily configured with
a convenient Rules
Wizard provided with the
SXIPM-SAFE option of the I/O Tool
Kit software.
The ET-GT-ST-3 with its
dual Ethernet ports and industrial ratings is
well suited as an industrial firewall right on your plant floor.
Add
Authentication to Serial Links
Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) uses user names and password to
authenticate links before it allows messages to be transmitted.
PPP is the protocol used by Internet providers to pass secure
IP traffic through telephone modems. PPP can be used in IPm controllers
to protect serial communications through serial links, including
existing full duplex wireless connections. Use the SXIPM-PPP
option to add authentication to your serial messaging.
Protect Existing Systems
Need robust protection for an existing system? Please consider
the industrially rated
ET-GT-ST-3. Two Ethernet ports provide a firewall between
your WAN (wide area) and LAN (local) network. The RS-232 port
can provide PPP authentication over an existing full duplex serial
link.
