Note:

Although this gateway is still available, other SIXNET DCS controllers are recommended for new designs. The ET-GT-ST-2 I/O Concentrator functionally replaces the ST-GT-422-02N nonprogrammable gateway in applications where two wire RS485 communication is required.

Select a ST-GT-422-02N when…

…the connection to the primary host (supervisory computer or distributed control system) will be an RS422 or RS485 link.

Key Features

¢

32-bit CPU optimizes performance and reliability.

¢

The Main Port on the ST-GT-422-xxx is optically isolated from the gateway circuitry for high immunity to ground loops and other types of noise.

¢

RS485 uses differential transmissions similar to RS422 but supports party-line (multidrop) connections. Either one or two pairs of wires can be used. RS485 stations alternately send and receive.

¢

Simultaneous communications from each port are possible. (Use a laptop PC for on-the-fly diagnostics.)

¢

Every SixTRAK station requires a gateway to perform I/O updating, communicate with the outside world and power the ST-Bus. There can be only one gateway in each station.
