RM-4AO2 Usage Tips

The eight and four channel 4-20 mA analog output modules use the same wiring base. A four channel module may be easily upgraded by replacing it with an eight channel module without any alteration of the existing channel’s setup or base wiring.

Power for Outputs

The analog outputs in this module are internally powered by the module from the DC power supplied to screw terminals 17 and 18 on the wiring base.

Extra Precision for Smoother Control

This output module has 13 bits of resolution, which makes the smallest possible output step change twice as small as the more common 12 bit outputs found on other products. Smaller output steps provide greater precision of control in critical applications that are sensitive to the digital change in step caused by finite output resolution.
