RS485 Cable Wiring to Screw Terminals

Interconnect the "485 GND", "485 +" and "485 –" terminals as shown in the diagram below. RemoteTRAK modules have two sets of RS485 terminals and are shown in the diagram below. An EtherTRAK module has one set of identical RS485 terminals that may be connected to either set of RS485 terminals on a RemoteTRAK module.

Enable RS485 termination at each end of the RS485 network as shown below. All EtherTRAK and RemoteTRAK modules, the RM-232-485-4U converter and the ET-GT-485-1 Ethernet gateway provide a screw terminal for termination. Other SIXNET devices with RS485 DB9 connectors (see below) have software-selectable termination.
