SNMP Agent
Obtain valuable network management information using the SNMP agent (Simple Network Management Protocol) in your IPm controllers. A Rules Wizard in the I/O Tool Kit v2.2 or later quickly configures the SNMP agent that has been integrated into IPm firmware v1.7. Registered I/O Tool Kit users may purchase a license to use for this add-on software directly from SIXNET. This one license may be used with any number of IPm controllers owned by the same licensee. This application will run in any IPm based product, including all VT-IPM, VT-MIPM and ST-IPM models, the ST-GT-1210 and the ET-GT-ST-3.
Read and Write I/O in Your IPm Controller Using SNMP
An IPm controller by default is configured to act as an ‘agent’. Additionally, an I/O subagent is supplied with the SNMP Add-on software. This subagent allows you to read and write to the SIXNET I/O database (I/O registers) in an IPm using standard snmpget and snmpset calls.
Experienced SNMP users can quickly configure the SNMP Agent in an IPm station with these easy-to-use Windows tools.
The following MIB groups are supported in the IPm-based products.
AT |
Address translation information to map IP addresses to MAC addresses. |

Interfaces |
Per-port information at the interface layer. |

Statistical information about the SNMP protocol entity and tracks the amount of management traffic that a device responds to. |

Information about the switch as a system: name, description, physical location, uptime, contact, and a list of other groups in the MIB. |

TCP |
Information to keep track of the application entities using TCP. |

Information to keep track of application entities using User Datagram Protocol. |
Note: MIB Groups are in bold. The groups listed above apply to SIXNET IPm controllers only. SIXNET Managed Switches support a different collection of groups. Refer to the Managed Switch software user manual for more information.
