IPm Stations, SixTRAK gateways and VersaTRAK RTUs:
At 10 Megabaud, an Ethernet network can approach 1 Megabyte of data per second. As a benchmark, 2000 analog I/O can be updated in 30 mS or less, using only 25% of the Ethernet bandwidth. IPm stations support 100 Megabaud Ethernet communication, which can provide even faster updates.
SIXNET benchmark tests, run on a dedicated or lightly loaded network, typically send messages and receive replies from Windows-based system to SIXNET stations in 30 to 50 mS. This time is the same with one station or many stations on the network. Since the Control Room talks to multiple stations simultaneously, you get the benefit of parallel processing. (Multiple stations are processing requests simultaneously.) The Ethernet communication buffers in Windows based systems and in SIXNET stations are large enough to handle many messages from multiple sources simultaneously, without overflow.
EtherTRAK I/O:
EtherTRAK I/O is guaranteed to respond to an I/O request in 4 mS or less.
