Follow these steps to establish communication between your computer and your SIXNET stations (IPm stations, SixTRAK Ethernet gateways, VersaTRAK RTUs, RemoteLog RTU and EtherTRAK I/O modules).
Install TCP/IP software
SIXNET software uses TCP/IP network protocol to communicate over an Ethernet network to SIXNET stations. For communication to be successful, a TCP/IP network protocol driver must be installed and configured properly on your computer. Refer to Installing and Configuring TCP/IP Software for details.
Choose IP Addresses For Your System
Each device on an Ethernet TCP/IP network must obtain, or be assigned, a unique IP address. Refer to DHCP Overview and/or Choosing IP Addresses for more information.
Configure the IP Address For Your Ethernet Card
Refer to Configuring Your Ethernet Card IP Address for details.
Configure and Download the IP Address For Each SIXNET Station(s)
Refer to Configuring Your SIXNET IP Address for details.
If you experience difficulty, refer to Ethernet Network Diagnostics for assistance.
